From Hossa the patrols pushed off starting from eight o’clock in the morning. Next camping was planned at Seipäjärvi, located west side of road E75, but first there were 370 kilometres to ride through Posio, Kemijärvi and Vuojärvi. The tarred road E75 was also included to the route, however only about 8 metres in transverse direction of the road. Imme-diately after the start the refueling was arranged from the service truck to lighten its load of gasoline. The temperature in the morning was a few degrees above zero and some wet snow was in the air.

Soon it was arrived to the first thin black line of the map, a 31 kilometres long soft-bedded track that wound between the forest hills and swamps. Here one could really notice the difference between a so-called allroad tyre and a real en-duro tyre. With smoother tyre the control disappeared every little while making the bike slipping all over the place. The reliable front tyre was needed when riding among the deep traces of the jeeps or when there was a sudden need to brake because of pits and pools on the track.

All the patrols arrived safely to Posio. In Posio old familiar Pizzeria Sorrento was a comfortable sight. Sorrento was a pause place also on previous Allroad Tour 2000 Kairi, when 30 hungry men stuffed simultaneously inside. When the cook noticed what was happening he escaped straightaway from the kitchen window. Fortunately he was caught up fast.

After XL sized Vesuvius pizza it was time to hit the road again, now towards Kemijärvi. The mighty Kemijoki-river was handsomely crossed along the bridge. At Seipäjärvi camp normal routines included the erection of tents, prepara-tions for dinner and warming up sauna. Kassu, Allroad Tour’s purveyor, was dining today his legendary salmon soup. The hot soup persuaded also mosquitoes and I calculated them 11 pieces among my soup. Some spicy extras to ones diet. Eran and Oded from Israel began little by little learn how to act in the sauna and were cooling themselves in the porch only with their mosquito nets on.
